William Christopher, best known for his role as Father Mulcahy on M*A*S*H, has died after battling lung cancer. He was 84 years old.
Christopher played the roll for the entire eleven years of M*A*S*H.
He passed away this morning at his home in Pasadena. (Dec 31)
Everyone knows that driving while drunk is a bad idea and illegal, but many don't think about the morning after.
With only a few hours left in 2016 police are asking people to think about what they'll do once the party is over.
Corp. Jennifer Clarke with the RCMP says people often think they're okay to drive once they've had a few hours of sleep.
"If you've been celebrating the night before, take a good hard look at your self in the mirror and ask 'should I be on the road.' There isn't any definitive self-test. We're asking people to be responsible."
A five hour stand-off in the Town of Sioux Lookout has ended.
The OPP say they were called to a residence in the community around 5:30 Thursday evening to check on the well-being of someone inside.
When officers arrive at the scene, they discovered a man had barricaded himself inside.
Police were also told there there were weapons inside the home.
The OPP say a perimeter was set up outside and the area was evacuated.
The incident finally came to an end shortly after 10 PM when a man finally left the home.
A lobby group for tourist outfitters in the Rainy River and Lake of the Woods areas has decided to disband.
The Northwestern Ontario Tourist Association is calling it quits.
Gerry Cariou from the Sunset Country Travel Association says it's disappointing because the tourism industry seems to be rebounding.
Cariou says the only lobby group left in the region is the Kenora District Campowners Association and he's hoping some NWOTA members
decide to join that organization.
If you struggle to maintain New Year's resolutions, you're not alone.
Psychologist Dr. Michael Vallis says that's because most people are going about it the wrong way.
Vallis says the reasons why people choose a certain goal is setting them up for failure.
"They primary driver to a New Year's resolution is someone feel bad about something. The motivation is get out of a bad situation and into a good one. We call that 'escape behavior."
The MPP Kenora-Rainy River is supportive of her riding being carved up to create a new one representing communities in the Far North.
Sarah Campbell calls it a much welcomed change.
She just hopes the communities impacted have a say in how the riding is formed.
Campbell is also excited about increased First Nations representation at Queen's Park the creation of the new riding.

changing it's mandate.

Nault says the Trudeau government is in the process of reviewing FedNor and how it operates.
Nault thinks FedNor will focus more on innovation and technology and less on infrastructure projects for the region.
Thunder Bay-Superior North MP Patty Hajdu has been through a huge growth experience since she became a politician.
In a year end interview at her office, Hajdu says the amount of interest in politics with young people amazes her, considering how little interest there was when she was younger.
Hajdu says being new requires learning how to conduct yourself as an MP. Hajdu says the biggest challenge she has faced this year is the size of this riding, with travel by car being as much as five hours as an MP, along with her cabinet post. (File photo)
We're approaching the one year anniversary of the Nipigon River Bridge breaking in half.
The new bridge severed Canada in half with traffic coming to a stand still one cold Sunday, January 10th.
Speaking to our newsroom, Premier Kathleen Wynne says she wants to prevent this from ever happening again.

Thunder Bay-Superior North MPP Michael Gravelle remains focused on developing northern Ontario in 2017.
He spoke to our newsroom about expansion of highway 17 from Thunder Bay to Nipigon, as well as mining and infrastructure investments.
When asked about Premier Wynne's low popularity rating of just 13%, Gravelle says it's just part of the political cycle.
Gravelle says the future of Ontario's economy is in the north, with more than 40 mines in operation as well as the impending Ring of Fire, as well as a growing forestry sector.
