The Voyageur Lions Club continues to collect aluminium cans in their recycling bins here in Fort Frances.
These cans are then turned in to raise money to give back to various local causes in our community.
One of the bins is located at the corner of Portage Avenue and First Street East.
A second bin is located at the corner of Sixth Street and Portage Avenue.
A third bin is located in the west end of the parking lot at Canadian Tire.
You can drop off your cans for a good cause all year round.
Canadian Mental Health Assocation Fort Frances, in partnership with Ontario Provincial Police and Treaty Three Police Services, will be supporting the first Safe Beds Program in the Rainy River District.
This new program for residents of Rainy River District offers support for individuals who are in immediate contact with the police, experiencing a mental health and/or addictions crisis and are unable to remain in their current living situation
The program provides temporary housing and a safe environment where a person can manage their mental health crisis with the support of trained CMHA experts and other community partners.

The Seniors Companion Project is looking for volunteers for their "Friendly Phone Call" program.
Take a little time out of your week to make a connection with a local senior andalso to create a bond with someone new for yourself!
