Fort Frances High School is preparing to role out a new hockey academy.
It will first be offered to grade 7 and 8 students who will attend classes there this fall.
Principal Bill Daley says it’s combines both academics with on and off ice training.
It’s a program that is being promoted by Hockey Canada.
A similar program is already running out of schools in the Kenora district.
Fort Frances High held an information session for parents this week.
Daley says it’s not going to be an elite program, noting it will be open to all eligible students.
