Two provincial parks will be open this summer under the guidance of the municipality of Sioux Narrows-Nestor Falls.
The municipality has reached a new five year agreement with Parks Ontario for the continued operation of Caliper Lake and Sioux Narrows provincial parks.
Mayor Jerry O'Leary says the big issue for them was they didn't want to have to pay for any major infrastructure upgrades.
He says Parks Ontario has agreed to keep that responsiblity.
O'Leary says the community will continue to subsidize the parks' operations, but calls it a necessary expenditure toward its tourism infrastructure.
