The town of Fort Frances will go ahead with the construction of a barrier free washroom at the Fort Frances Museum.
The cost will be almost $52-thousand.
It was proposed the washroom be made available 24-hours a day with drop down gates in place restricting public access to the rest of the building.
Councillor Paul Ryan says they could be asking for trouble with that idea.
“We have a lot of problems with the washrooms at Point Park. It’s an ongoing vandalism affair. I think this washroom should only be open during business hours or day light hours.”
Chief Building Inspector Tyson Dennis says bathroom is being constructed with measures to limit damage.
However, he says with the design of the gate already completed, council could look at having the bathroom available 24 hours a day at a later time.
