It is Mental Illness Awareness Week.
It’s aimed at raising awareness of mental illness.
Educator-Trainer with the Canadian Mental Health Association in Fort Frances Nancy Daley-Fulton says there still persists a stigma around mental illness.
She says that stigma is preventing some people from not getting the help they need.
Still, she says more people are talking about it and more people are seeking help than ever before which is a good thing.
Daley-Fulton says mental illness is like any other illness, and the sooner you get treatment the better you will be.
