Greenpeace is calling it positive news.
A federal court judge in California has dismissed a racketeering case brought upon the environmental group, and others, by Resolute Forest Products.
In his ruling, District Judge Jon Tigar stated their speech constituted the expression of opinion and that different viewpoints are a vital part of democracy.
Resolute filed the lawsuit in 2016 in response to a Greenpeace campaign.
A separate defamation case against Greenpeace Canada filed three years earlier is still ongoing in an Ontario court.
