Union Gas is seeking a rate increase.
The company says it will make a formal request to the Ontario Energy Board in March with the new rate taking effect in April.
Details are not finalized, but it could mean an increase on customer bills of between $3 to $5 a month.
Union Gas says the change reflects the cost it pays for natural gas which is passed onto consumers without any mark-up.
