A Fort Frances woman’s challenges of being visually and hearing impaired now being told in a new book.
“A Better Sense of Self” was penned by Dawnelee Wright.
It was launched during a private party in Thunder Bay last night before a public reveal takes place tomorrow at Chapters Book Store.
Wright says she was encouraged to tell her story by staff at the Canadian Helen Kellar Centre.
They will include the book as part their celebrations of DeafBlind Awareness Month Monday in Nathan Phillips Square in Toronto.
Wright admits it was a difficult story to tell in light of the many challenges she’s faced along the way.
She was born blind and with a heart defect, and most recently is suffering from hearing loss.
The book is currently available though Amazon.
Wright says she does hope to have it available in the Fort Frances area in the near future.
