John Rafferty has been officially declared the NDP candidate in the next provincial election in the riding of Thunder Bay-Atikokan.
The former MP for Thunder Bay-Rainy River says he was comfortable staying out of politics, but too many people are expressing their dislike for Kathleen Wynne, especially over hydro.
Rafferty says other issues needing attention include violence against nurses in hospitals and injured workers.
Rafferty also ran for the party in the 2003 and 2007 provincial elections, losing both times to the Liberal’s Bill Mauro.
He missed out by 50 votes in the 2007 election.
