NOMA Disappointed By Energy East Cancellation

There's disappointment from the head of a regional lobby group to TransCanada's decision to scrap the Energy East Pipeline project.

Wendy Landry of the Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association says the group has always felt moving oil through a pipeline is safer than transporting it by train.

Landry says whether by rail or pipeline, oil will always be transported through northwestern Ontario.

She says NOMA will now be pressing the federal government to force trains to slow down when passing through area communities.
