The Wynne government has announced funding for 180 energy efficient projects at close to 100 hospitals across the province.
Environment and Climate Change Minister Chris Ballard insists there will be more than $60 million in savings realized from the Hospital Energy Efficiency Program.
He says the program will help hospitals to reduce greenhouse gas pollution and eventually redirect the savings back into patient care.
The province is spending $64 million on the program this year.
The projects are said to include improvements to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning units, the replacement of boilers or chillers, and new lighting systems.
