The Grand Chief of Treaty Three is speaking out against the verdict in the Colten Boushie case.

Gerald Stanley was acquitted of second degree murder in the death of 22 year old Colten Boushie, an aboriginal man who was shot in the head almost two years ago near Biggar, Saskatchewan.

In a release, Francis Kavanaugh states Canadians cannot ignore the systemic racism involved and believes the jury composition supports the numerous documented reports of racism in the justice system.

Kavanaugh is among those also calling for immediate action to reform the Canadian criminal justice system.
