More Ontario Support To BC

More support from Ontario to help with the forest fires in British Columbia.

Another 100 Ministry of Natural Resources personnel were deployed to the western province over the weekend.

There are plans for another 100 tto ship out later this week.

The BC wildfire service says are 120 active fires.

The MNR adds we could begin to see smoke drift from those fires into Ontario as early as today.

Meantime, there are about 10 active forest fires burning in northwestern Ontario.

Six of them are lightning starts that have been burning since the beginning of the month, but arer being observed by the MNR.

Four new ones were reported yesterday.

One blaze near Walsh Lake in the MNR's Red Lake Fire district is listed as not under control, but is only about 2  hectares in size.
