The line-up for the Rainy Lake Concert Series is now in place.
The first performance will be held May 17 as part of the Rainy Lake Square’s grand opening with Entyrely Mac taking to the stage.
Other local performances this summer will include Kings of None on July 12 and Distance Legacy featuring Brittany Strachan on August 30.
They were selected as part of a recent public vote.
Other performances will include well-know children’s entertainer Fred Penner, Cree and Dene pop singer Iskwe, and The Old Salts, a blues-folk band out of Toronto.
All of the concerts will be free and take place between 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Thursday, May 17: Grand Opening: Fort Frances Kitchen Party with Entyrely Mac – Entyrely Mac are a local brother/sister musical act originally hailing from the Maritimes. The have an extensive repertoire of 280+ folk, roots, and rock songs.
Thursday, June 14: Fred Penner – Canada’s iconic and beloved children’s music performer, three-time Juno award winner. Family favourites such as ‘The Cat Came Back,’ he brings 45 years of commitment, consistency and depth to his performances.
Thursday, July 12: Kings of None – Local Fort Frances recording artists and rockers playing cover songs and originals.
Thursday, August 30: Iskwé – Juno-award nominated Cree and Dene pop/electronic music singer. Named ‘Top 10 Canadian Musicians You Need to Know’ by CBC Music, Iskwé’s cross-cultural aesthetic is as striking as her tripped-out blend of soul. Opening act will be Distant Legacy Featuring Brittany Strachan.
Thursday, September 13: The Old Salts – A high-powered, 6-piece roots-rock outfit from Toronto. The Old Salts have shared the stage with the Wooden Sky, Devin Cuddy and many others.
