An expansion for the Cloverbelt Local Food Coop in the Rainy River district.

Two more distribution hubs are being set up for members to obtain their products ordered through the Co-Op's on-line farmers market.

The district's Community Coordinator Anita Marcotte says one will be at the Fort France Volunteer Bureau and will open March 27.

Another will be located in Atikokan and will be in place sometime this month or next.

The Co-Op set up its first site in the district at Emo Feeds last November.

Marcotte says the program is starting to catch on in the Rainy River district.

When she started last May there were just six local producers involved.

Now there are 40 members including 12 producers.

Across northwestern Ontario, the Co-Op has over 1,400 members, including 100 producers.
