Koochiching County Board of Commissioners is being asked to hire an additional probation officer.
The County currently has four with two assigned to adult offenders.
Chief Probation Officer Wally Kostich says an extra body would help reduce the workload of those two officers which has increased gradually over the last few years.
He adds their case load is also well above national levels.
Commissioner says the request will be looked at further during the budget process.
