The Rainy River District School Board has received funding necessary to consolidate its two schools in the town of Rainy River as one.
The $5.17 million will be used to renovate Rainy River High School to accommodate elementary students now attending classes at Riverview Public School.
The Board cites declining enrolment and an underutilization of the two schools as reasons for moving towards one combined K-12 school.
