Sandbags located around Rainy Lake won’t be removed anytime soon.
The lake appears to have reached its peak and little moisture is in the immediate forecast.
Fort Frances Fire Chief Frank Sheppard says both the lake and river need to drop significantly before they’re comfortable picking up the bags.
Sheppard says events scheduled for the waterfront this month may have to work around the bags and the high water.
