Federal funding is finally coming to a sewer project in and around Voyageurs National Park.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is committing $4.5 million in its 2016 Work plan to the Island View Sanitary Sewer Extension project.
The project is intended to bring sewer services to the Park as well as to a number of homes and resorts in the area.
Koochiching County had already secured more than $8-million from the state for the work.
