Twenty-seven hardy souls took a plunge into Rainy Lake yesterday as part of the Voyageur Lions Club’s annual Polar Plunge.
All did so to raise $9,665 for their favourite charities.
Andrea Turgeon was the top fundraiser, collecting $1,150 for Friends of Animals.
Daroll and Elana Van Deventer, who are from South Africa but now living in Fort Frances, raised $1,000 for their jump in support of a South African organization that works to alleviate poverty and assists young people in the community of Mooiplaas, South Africa.
