It is Railroad Daze in the town of Rainy River.
It runs all weekend long with a host of events starting today.
One of the organizers Julie Tiboni says today’s events include a book sale at the Rainy River Public Library, a picnic on the grounds outside the municipal office and a bonfire this event at Hannam Park tonight.
There is a parade tomorrow and youngsters can decorate their bicycles, wagons and strollers today at 3 p.m. at the Rainy River Rec. Centre with prizes to be awarded.
There is also an art festival on Saturday featuring local talent taking place at Hannam Park.
Some of the activities require a wristband.
Tiboni says those can be purchased at the Park for $10.00 and good for all specified events.
Another highlight is the cardboard boat races which take place on the Rainy River Sunday.
