Area school boards insist all is ready to go for new school bus company First Student today.
First Student is now be providing transportation services along twenty routes in the Rainy River School District.
Those routes were formerly operated by Iron Range Bus Lines.
In a statement issued, the boards say First Student was awarded the contract through an extensive procurement process that was conducted fairly and in accordance with the standards and rules governing public sector procurement.
They add compliance requirements and quality standards remain the same as under prior contracts.
First Student’s contract is for seven years with an optional one-year extension.
The company is still advertising for drivers.
