A Canadian boater is facing a hefty fine for not reporting to customs.
U.S. Border Patrol says a boat carrying three Canadians was spotted by officers crossing Rainy Lake last Saturday and dock at a resort on the Minnesota side.
When approached, all three admitted to not reporting to customs first.
Only the boat owner was cited for failing to report which comes with a $5,000 fine if convicted.
The boat was also seized.
All three were also allowed to return to Canada without further charges being issued.
The Border Patrol did not say where in Canada the individuals were from.
