A promise made right before the provincial election seems to be falling flat.
Back in August, Doug Ford instilled Buck-a-Beer in an attempt to save Ontarians money on beer.
The initiative received mixed responses from small breweries saying they couldn’t afford to sell beer at that price, and large breweries mostly ignoring the new optional pricing policy.
Four months later, only one brewery in Ontario is serving beer for one dollar.
It’s a brewery in Doug Ford’s riding Etobicoke.
The brewery in Picton that hosted Ford during the initial announcement has now hiked its price to $1.65.
