The search is back on for the new Commissioner of the OPP.
Last night, Doug Ford’s longtime friend Ron Tavener withdrew his name from contention for the job.
In a letter to the Minister of Community Safety, Tavener says it was not an easy decision to make, but is withdrawing his name because of the controversy surrounding his appointment.
The 72-year old’s appointment as OPP Commissioner is a subject of an investigation by the province’s integrity commissioner.
