Minnesotans could vote next year on whether gender equality should be a part of the state’s constitution.
The House has approved a bill that proposes that question in next year’s general election.
The bill’s sponsor Mary Kunesh-Podein says it’s meant to ensure that equal protection for women and men is guaranteed under the law in Minnesota.
Twenty-seven other states already have similar amendments in their constitutions.
The bill now goes to the Senate for discussion.
