A petition is circulating around Fort Frances asking the province to enforce the licence agreement it has with Resolute Forest Products and the Crossroute Forest.
Christine Hampton started the petition which suggests the licence requires, at least some of the of wood, must supply company’s idled Fort Frances operations
HamptonĀ says she and others have seen a “snapshot” of the agreement “and our understanding is there is wood allocated in the Crossroute Forest for the operation of the Fort Frances mill.”
So far the petition has garnered over 2,000 signatures.
It will be presented to MPP Greg Rickford’s office tomorrow.
We have reached out to Resolute Forest Products for a comment.
