The Fort Frances Muskies girls curling team have improved to 2-1 at the all-Ontario curling championships in North Bay.
The rink skipped by Ashley Payne jumped out to an 8-0 lead to beat Central Huron of Clinton, Ontario 10-2 yesterday afternoon.
They finish off the round robin portion of the event this afternoon against Bishop Allen Academy out of Etobicoke
A win assures the Muskies a spot in the playoffs.
Fort Frances Lakers forward Nick Lucas has been named most sportsmanlike player in the SIJHL.
He was a co-winner of the same award last year.
Lucas picked up just 10 minutes in penalties in 44 games this year while finishing with a team-second best 48 points.
