Ontario’s Finance Minister insists his approach to balancing the budget will be measured and thoughtful.
Vic Fedeli brings forward that document April 11th.
He says it aims to achieve four specific objectives.
“Restoring fiscal balance in a responsible and sustainable manner. Protecting what matters most, health care, education and other critical public services,” says Fedeli.
Fedeli says it will also make Ontario for business and put people first.
“This will be the direct result of our efforts to spend smarter, to work smarter all while protecting front-line jobs,” says Fedeli.
Fedeli says if they don’t act now in addressing Ontario’s debt, they can’t guarantee the protection of public services in the future.
Ontario’s deficit is now at $13.5 billion while the debt has reached almost $350-billion.
