A proposed city sales tax for International Falls has cleared a hurdle at the state legislature.
The House Property and Local Tax Committee is giving its approval to the tax as part of a massive bill that also includes an increase in Local Government Aid for the city.
The bill now heads to the House tax committee for discussion.
The city proposing a 1 per cent tax to help raise money for future infrastructure upgrades.
