Cuts to legal aid services in the spotlight at Queen’s Park.
Funding for Legal Aid Ontario was reduced by 30 per cent with local officials expecting a trickle-down effect.
Attorney General Caroline Mulroney says Legal Aid will continue to provide the vital service it always has.
“The Ministry of the Attorney General is committed to working with Legal Aid to ensure that those front-line services are preserved and are maintained, and they will under this government,” says Mulroney
Premier Doug Ford told a radio talk show in Toronto recently that if people need legal aid services to call his office.
Mulroney made a similar promise of her own in the legislature.
“Those who need legal aid can call the Ministry of the Attorney General and can call legal aid. The services will be there for those in need.”
