Fort Frances Muskies boys soccer team lost 2-o in the B-side final to host St. John’s Ravencourt during a weekend tournament in Winnipeg.
The Muskies had finished second in pool play before blanking Vincent Massey 2-0 to reach the final.
The Muskies girls soccer team was in Thunder bay for exhibition play where they came away with a win in four games.
Yesterday, they lost to Hammarskjold 2-1 before beating Westgate 1-0.
Saturday, they lost games to St. Pat’s and St. Ignatius.
At the all-Ontario high School badminton championships in North Bay, Rainy River High’s Jackson Arpin was eliminated in the B-side consolation side of boys singles after reaching the B-side quarter-finals.
Atikokan High’s Destinee Lafond was eliminated in the third round of the C-side consolation side in girls singles.
Tia Alexiuk and Sarah Ribey, in girls doubles, were eliminated in the first round of the B-side consolation.
Reed King and Josh Palmai fell in the third round of the C-side consolation of boys doubles.
Joel Hayes and Monica Young lost in the first round of the C-side consolation in mixed doubles.
In action at Falls High School, the girls golf team won a tournament in Hibbing Friday, besting the opposition by 48 strokes.
Morgan Rasmussen with an 82 had the best individual score with Maggie Roeder, two strokes back in second and Kenzie Wenberg finishing in a two-way tie for third, 3 strokes back.
On the boys side, the Broncos finished in a tie for third with Nick Tanner shooting a team best 86.
The track and field teams was also in Hibbing Friday where the girls finished third and the boys 7th.
Ryan Ford came away with a win in the girls 1,600 metre run while finishing second in the 3,200 metre event.
Taylor Busch was first in girls shot put and second in the discuss.
Jack Maxwell won the boys pole vault while Cody Jantzen claimed the boys shot put.
Other podium finishers were Grace Gilbert with third in the girls 200 metre event.
She also finished second behind Taylor in the shot put.
Summer Hessendehl was third in the girls 100 metres.

On the diamonds, the girls softball team split games Saturday, beating De Lasalle 7-nothing and losing to Esko 16-2.
Friday, the defeated Little-fork-Big Falls 14-7 on the strength of 10 runs in the 7th.
And the boys baseball team defeated Mesabi East Friday 7-2.
Rainy River Voyageurs women’s softball team earned a split in their weekend games.
Yesterday, they swept Mesabi Range by scores of 7-6 and 12-1.
Janet Humbert had a 2-run homer and 5 RBIs in the second game.
Saturday, the Voyageurs were swept by Central Lakes, 11-2 and 11-3.
The Voyageurs men’s baseball team went winless against Hibbing over the weekend.
Yesterday, they lost 8-6 and 10-2.
Saturday they fell 7-3 and 9-1.
A couple of local drivers on the tracks in Minnesota over the weekend.
Jamie Davis was fourth in the Midwest modified feature at Olgivie Raceway on Saturday.
Jake Froemke of International Falls failed to finish the street stock feature at Olgivie and placed 10th.
He also had problems at Red Cedar Speedway in Memonomie, Wisconsin, were he failed to finish and was 19th.
