This is Catholic Education Week.
The theme is Living as Joyful Disciples.
Education Director with the Northwest Catholic District School Board Brendan Hyatt says there are five sub-themes.
“Rooted in Prayer, Living in Community, Doing Justice and Creating Hope, Journeying Together in Faith and Sharing the Good News,” explains Hyatt.
Hyatt says it’s also a week to highlight the students’ and staff’s contributions to catholic education.
Schools will be holding a variety of events in celebration.
“Schools will be celebrating things like the living rosary with our CWL (Catholic Women’s League) and K of C (Knights of Columbus) partners. There will be spelling bees in French and English that parents and committee members can take in,” says Hyatt.
