Some grade 8 students getting a feel for what high school life is like.
A Grade 8 Day was held at Fort Frances High School yesterday.
More than 200 students from elementary schools between Emo and Mine Centre took part.
One of the organizers, grade 12 student Matt Barron, says it’s to help next year’s freshman become more comfortable in their new surroundings.
“The high school is so much bigger than all the other schools that they (come from). Some (student) get overwhelmed and that doesn’t help them succeeds. So we want to help them succeed and make them feel comfortable in the high school,” says Barron.
The day also included tours, some fun team-building activities and opportunities to answer questions the next year’s grade nines may have.
