The tourist centre in Fort Frances is now opens.
It’s operated by the town of Fort Frances.
Local economic development consultant Tannis Drysdale says the centre will open extended hours for the next several weeks.
“Through May and June, we extend our hours to make sure we captured many travelers as we possibly can. Then as we develop a slightly different kind of tourists through July and August, we adjust our hours are a little bit accordingly,” says Drysdale.
While there has been a shift to hour travellers get information, the centre is still seeing it’s fair share of visitors.
We’ve done a number of things here in fort Frances to increase visitation from of course. putting the moose in to buying billboards in the US, providing free wifi and washroom services.”
