Fort Frances Muskies soccer teams have earned byes to next week NorWOSSA finals.
The Muskies boys ended their season undefeated after a 2-0 win over Kenora’s Beaver Brae Broncos and a 2-2 tie with the Dryden Eagles in the final regular season games in Kenora.
Nick Hakala and Ethan Jourdain scored against Kenora while Austin Armstrong and Brett Allan provided the scoring in the Dryden game.
The Muskies girls lost their final two games, 3-1 to the Broncos and 5-0 to Dryden, but a 1-1 draw between Kenora and the Eagles allowed the Muskies to clinch first.
Pasqual Shortreed had the Muskies only goal.
The finals will be played next Wednesday in Dryden.
Big Grassy Lynx doubled up the Fort Frances Angels 8-4 in the only game played in the Rainy River District Women’s Fastllball League.
Candace Handorgan picked up the win on the mound.
All other games were cancelled because of weather.
