A Fort Frances man is giving back to the NHL team he wants to win the Stanley Cup.
Ash Gibbs, a long-time fan of the St. Louis Blues, is part of a team Beard Benefit challenge to raise money for children in cancer care and youth in sport.
Gibbs says he got involved to support the organization who selected his daughter Makayla to skate and meet the team during a regular season game in St. Louis in February.
As of Monday morning, he was close to $1,400 and was the third-highest fundraiser among all those taking part. He was also doing better than many Blues players who are also participating.
The event will continue until the end of the Stanley Cup finals.
The Blues organization have invited to Gibbs back to St. Louis with Makayla to skate as part of pre-game festivities during Game 4 of the finals.
