Today is National Indigenous People’s Day.
Many Indigenous agencies and offices are closed as a result.
Couchiching First Nation is celebrating later with its annual traditional pow wow.
It begins at 7 p.m. tonight and runs all weekend.
There’s also a firework’s display that will be lit from the Couchiching Ball Field at around 9:30 p.m.
