No new forest fires have been reported in the Rainy River district, but Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry crews were busy elsewhere in northwestern Ontario.
Five new fires were reported yesterday. All were small. Three of them are still active this morning.
The fire hazard is currently moderate for much of the district, but low in an area from Flanders, eastward.
That’s is expected to change with dry, hot weather moving into the region in the next few days.
