The federal government is explaining where revenue collected from the carbon tax will go.
Environment Minister Catherine McKenna says all funds must be generated back into its respective province.
Ninety per cent will be going back to residents in the form of a climate incentive. McKenna says the rest will be made available to schools.
“We will be providing $60-million for energy-efficiency retrofits to schools in Ontario, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and New Brunswick,” McKenna says.
Forty-one million will be made available to schools in Ontario.
Over 6 thousand schools in Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan and New Brunswick will be eligible for the money.
