It’s the final few days for Fort Frances Library Chief Executive Officer Caroline Goulding.
She leaves at the end of the week for a new position with Patricia Area Community Endeavors in Dryden.
Monday, staff, town officials, library board members, Friends of the Library and others gathered to reminisce and offer best wishes to her in her new position.
Councillor Andrew Hallikas, was chair of the board at the time of her hiring two and a half years ago.
“She’s done wonders with our staff. She’s done wonders with our board, and she’s done wonders with everybody she’s worked with,” Hallikas says.
Goulding also received praise from representatives of other committees she was involved with including the Substance Abuse Prevention Team and Celebrating Diversity. She says it’s that support she will miss the most.
“I’m going to miss the people. I’m going to miss the community, and I’m going to miss the connections that we’ve been able to make here in Fort Frances,” says Goulding.
Goulding adds she leaves with so many memories.
“I don’t know if there’s any one moment that I can point out. It’s just kind of a patchwork or quilt of many moments that really touched me, more my heart and really made me feel like I was a part of Fort Frances.”
She starts her new position next week.
