Some users of medical cannabis say it’s getting harder to get the drug because of the legalization of recreational cannabis.
A study commissioned for Canadians for Fair Access to Medical Marijuana, the Arthritis Society and the Canadian Pharmacists Association finds 26 per cent of medical marijuana patients finding it tougher to get the cannabis they have been prescribed.
Fourteen per cent say it is easier for them.
Forty per cent also indicate they are paying more for weed than before legalization.
Just 8 per cent have noticed a decrease.
The study also finds many patients are now purchasing cannabis from recreational outlets or from the illegal black market, and getting health advice from unregulated sources.
