The Ford government is still intent on reviewing the provincial gas tax fund.
Under that program, municipalities receive a share of taxes collected at the pump for transit improvements.
Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney wants to look at how the money is doled out.
“Looking at the funding process. I think that one of the things we’ve heard is consistency, is something that municipalities are looking for,” says Mulroney.
Mulroney adds municipalities would be asked for their input when the review gets underway.
“As part of this review that we will do, we look for ways to reach out and engage your agencies in a meaningful way.”
Mulroney says that discussion will likely be through an AMO working group.
