The NDP candidate for Thunder Bay-Rainy River is adding her voice to those concerned about a mining project in northeastern Minnesota.
Opponents say the Twin Metals sulfide-ore copper mine near Ely has the potential of causing irreparable damage to the waters within the Rainy Lake watershed.
Yuk-Sem Won says the prospect of pollution here is a serious issue that should not be ignored.
She also accuses the Trudeau government of being silent on the issue.
