A new school year for Confederation College and students at the college’s Rainy River district campus in Fort Frances begins today.
Campus Manager Sandra Turner says it starts with orientation for their new students.
“We will be welcoming the students to the campus, giving them a tour, showing them the ropes on what they need to know to be successful in the coming year,” says Turner.
Between 50 to 55 new students will attend classes this year. That’s a little more than half of all students the campus will see.
Turner says some of the students will be enrolled in a new nursing program that also gets underway.
“We will be launching our bachelor of sciences in nursing program which is a partnership with Lakehead University. We will also be welcoming our community integration through cooperative education students as well. That is going to be our second cohort of this program.”
Classes will officially begin tomorrow.
