Another school year now underway at schools operated by the Rainy River District School Board.
Education Director Heather Campbell says some students returned to classes this week to see different looks to will see different looks to their schools.
“Donald Young, for instance, we have all the school ready to go. There’s also an extended swing set and playground equipment for kindergarten out there. The grade 7 and 8s at Robert Moore have moved into theĀ Fort Frances High School elementary school and we’re excited to welcome them there,” says Campbell.
The move of grade 7 and 8s from Robert Moore has also meant some changes to that school.
Kindergarten classrooms have shifted from one end of the building to the other to make room for a new childcare centre to open next month.
Campbell says also credits staff for their work over the summer to get schools ready for another year.
“The school year ends in June but it picks up for all of our maintenance, our caretakers, our information technology department, and our education centre so I want to thank them for all the hard work they’ve done over the summer.”
