More Canadians will get the opportunity to vote in this election.
Anyone living abroad will be eligible to cast a ballot.
Under old rules, Canadians who lived outside of the country for more than five years were not allowed to vote.
Electors living abroad must still register with Elections Canada by October 15 to ensure their eligibility.
