After weeks of no activity, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is reporting a new forest fire within the Rainy River district.
It was reported yesterday at around noon near Ski Lake, just north of Atikokan.
It’s now listed as being out.
Six other fires are still burning elsewhere in the northwest but are poising no threats and being monitored by the Ministry.
