Public elementary teachers will be meeting over the next two months to discuss the status of their negotiations.
They will also be taking a strike vote.
Their contract expired with the start of a new school year.
Issues include a call for more support for students with special needs, class size, the protection of Full-Day Kindergarten and hiring practices.
The Elementary Teachers Federation of Ontario says it wants to reach an agreement at the bargaining table without having to take job action.
